While the name of this particular Da-Lite screen does not leave much to the imagination, in terms of there they have designed it to be used, but they have not just paid lip-service to the name either. The Boardroom Electrol is a handsome screen with a reserved character and is certainly not one for showing off. The Boardroom is designed for recessed ceiling installations and in order to be discreet when not in use also comes with a fully automatic ‘door’ that conceals the screen when fully retracted.

Format & Size

The Boardroom is available in a number of shapes or formats to suite your room, such as:

1.33 or 4:3, in Da-Lite lingo: “Video Format”, PC: SVGA/XGA/SXGA+/UXGA/QXGA
1.78 or 16:9, in Da-Lite lingo: “HDTV Format”, PC: WVGA
1:1, in Da-Lite speak: “Square or AV Format”

And just because the Da Lite Boardroom Electrol is designed for a board or conference room, does not mean it has to be small screen. The boardroom is available in sizes ranging from 72” to 200” in the 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios, while if you are after a square screen, they go even bigger, from 50”H x 50”W to 20’H x 20’W or 12’H x 24’W. As for seams, that does depend on the screen surface you decide best suite you projection environment. In High Power sizes up to 6’ will be seamless, in Matte White screens up to and including 12’ high will be seamless, and Video Spectra 1.5 up to including 8’ high will be seamless.

Which Surface Is Right For You

To give you a better understanding of what each Da-Lite screen surface can offer you, here is some detail on, but first a recap of what surfaces are available:

  • Matte White
  • Video Spectra 1.5
  • High Power

And here is what each of them is good for:

Matte White

One of the most versatile screen surfaces and a good choice for situations when presentation material is being projected and ambient light is controllable. Its surface evenly distributes light over a wide viewing area. Colors remain bright and life-like, with no shifts in hue. Flame retardant and mildew resistant. Viewing Angle: 60° Gain: 1.0

Video Spectra 1.5

This screen surface is specially designed with a reflective coating, which provides an increased amount of brightness with a moderately reduced viewing angle. The increased gain of this surface makes it suitable for environments where ambient lighting is uncontrollable and a projector with moderate light output is utilized. Flame retardant and mildew resistant. Viewing Angle: 35° Gain: 1.5

High Power

A technological breakthrough, providing the reflectivity and optical characteristics of a traditional glass beaded surface with the ability to clean the surface when necessary. Its smooth textured surface provides the highest gain of all front projection screen surfaces with no resolution loss. The moderate viewing angle and its ability to reflect light back along the projection axis make this surface the best choice for situations where there is a moderate amount of ambient light and the projector is placed on a table-top or in the same horizontal viewing plane as the audience. Flame retardant and mildew resistant. Viewing Angle: 30° Gain: 2.4

Green Da-Lite

Da-Lite has always had being a responsible corporate citizen as a top priority, and has wanted to set the example in the communities in which it has operated for over 100 years. Da-Lite have taken this corporate citizenry to the next level by meeting a number of Green initiatives, one from the U.S. Green Building Council and another from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute.

With the U.S. Green Building Council program the screens are assessed to show how much recycled material they contain. The amount depends on the screen size and format but the percentage of recycled material in the screen can range from 0% to 94%.

The GREENGUARD program takes the lead in low emitting products and materials, and Da-Lite has been certified under certification number 90068. In addition to the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification, the Institute has also certified Da-Lite for their GREENGUARD Children and Schools program under citification numbers 90068-01 through 90068-26.
