HD Progressive Individual Surface Forte

Da-Lite’s HD Progressive projector screen surfaces are all about bringing to life every bit of detail of today’s HD projectors all the way up to 4K. While there are four different surfaces under the one name they are each quite unique in their color, performance and the installs/situations they are suitable for.

The HD progressive range is all about offering a surface to overcome whatever obstacles you have, much like most of Da-Lite’s products they’ve got a screen a surface that will fit your setup down to a tee. Here’s the details of each surface and more importantly where each excels:

HD Progressive 1.1

Color reproduction and fidelity

True color reproduction, performs well in bright rooms

As you can see some of the surfaces have more than one forte, for example with HD Progressive 0.6 ambient light might not be an issue for you, but you might have a powerful projector that is a bit bright for the space and lacks depth of contrast you are after. So putting the HD Progressive 0.6 in a dark room with your big bright projector is going to give you some great inky blacks and real depth.

On the flip side, if the idea of watching sport or videos in the dark give you the heebee geebees then the HD Progressive 1.3 has you covered. A bright Pure White screen with excellent gain means you can watch your favorite sports program and still see everything properly despite being in a bright room. And the best part about the HD Progressive 1.3 is you get a quality bright image, in that all the colors are preserved so you get a bright image that looks right, not an overly red or green one. Perfect for daytime viewing.

Go BIG or Go Home

Da-Lite, never one to shy away from a challenge have built a mega custom screen, so large it had to be constructed in an airplane hangar, requiring 13 people and a few scissor lifts.

How would you like a 1704” screen at home?

We it wouldn’t fit. This screen their custom Design Center made was 140 ft. wide and 25 ft. tall, we’re talking some serious screen real-estate.

Suspended from the ceiling this great time laps video with pans shows just how they went about assembling it on site.

Check it out, it’s amazing:

Da-Lite’s UTB Contour, a perfect fit for Ultra HD

Da-Lite has updated their popular Cinema Contour projector screen, taking a few design queues from the latest flat panel TV’s, but distinguishing the UTB Contour by its ability to produce a much larger image than comparably priced TV’s.

They launched the screen in June of 2013, here’s a quick rundown from their press release:

Da-Lite will unveil a new fixed frame screen at the annual InfoComm trade show in Orlando on June 12, 2013. The new product has the smallest edge of any fixed frame screen on the market. The new product will feature a flat panel aesthetic, projection surfaces for any resolution quality, including Ultra HD, various finish options such as contemporary black or silver and a one year comprehensive warranty.

With screens as large as 220” diagonally, the new Da-Lite fixed frame screen more than doubles the size of the largest flat panel televisions, and has the smallest fixed frame on the market measuring in with a one-fourth-inch frame.

HD Progressive from Da-Lite Video

Da-Lite has produced a great video that shows what its HD Progressive surfaces are all about. Here are some of the high lights:

  • A screen surface that doesn’t get in the way of your image.
  • As projection advances the surface becomes more important.
  • By studying the physics of light and experimenting with the science of surface they’ve discovered a better way.
  • Behind each Da-Lite surface is a proprietary, environmentally friendly chemical formula.
  • Only Da-Lite researches the science of surface with an in-house team of chemists.

And some more points:

  • Color fidelity, all of Da-Lite’s surfaces are tested and color measured to ensure each surface will preserve the true color of the projector.
  • Light Uniformity is very strong
  • Surface Granularity – the clarity of an image is in the microscopic details.
  • Da-Lite’s technology ensures a premium surface; free of microscopic dips or grooves every pixel is preserved.

Get A Big Image with Da-Lite’s UTB Contour Projector Screen

Want a super large image for your lounge or games room but don’t have the cash for a big LCD TV?

Da-Lite might just have the answer for you, in the form of the UTB Contour projector screen. Da-Lite’s original Contour screen has been around for a while, what this new updated version brings to the table is many of the things we like about flat panels, just bigger and without the associated cost.

Here’s how Da-Lite pitches the UTB Contour fixed frame projector screen:

“Flat panels can become cost prohibitive as they increase in size. The new UTB Contour from Da-Lite combines the aesthetics of a flat panel with the size of a projection screen resulting in a larger, more impressive image for applications such as home theater,” said Melissa Rone, Senior Marketing Manager.
